Castle Leoch
Wentworth Prison

One Day Outlander Tour:
Stravaigin will start your epic journey by transporting you to the beauteous Doune Castle, featured as Castle Leoch in the show, sited on a wooded bend where the Ardoch Burn flows into the river Teith. Doune is steeped in an enthralling history, and Outlander fans have flocked here to soak up the atmosphere at the seat of the Clan Mackenzie.

Following a delicious lunch which the Fraser and Mackenzie clans would be proud to present, we whisk you on to the 16th Century tower house Midhope Castle, used as Jamie Fraser’s home at Lallybroch (when available). A must have photo op so keep those cameras at the ready!

Fancy another Castle? We’re Stravaigin, so we’ve got it covered! As we approach the imposing Blackness Castle, instantly recognisable as the place where poor Jamie was flogged in the courtyard when this 15th Century Castle stood in as Fort William, just avoid Black Jack Randall please, as we don’t know what sort of mood he’ll be in…

Phew! Let’s take you to our final stop on the Outlander one-day tour before we get you back home. And what a stop! Who could forget one of the most intense Outlander scenes so far? After Jamie is betrayed, the Redcoats take him to Wentworth Prison where he stands trial and is sentenced to hang, and where he suffers terrible torture at the hands of Randall. Linlithgow palace stands in for Wentworth prison, and this 15th and 16th century building was formerly one of the principal residences of the Monarchs of Scotland.
