A trip to Scotland would not be complete without a visit to Scotland’s Capital, Edinburgh. And a trip to Edinburgh would not be complete without a visit to Edinburgh Castle. Sitting on top of Castle Hill this imposing icon of Scottish History dates back to the Iron Age. It has been fought over many times during the wars of independence and has been the home of several Monarchs and houses both The Scottish Crown Jewels & The Stone of Destiny.
Take a wander down the Royal Mile and experience ancient Edinburgh and the vibrant and bustling modern cosmopolitan city. At the end of The Royal Mile sits The Palace of Holyroodhouse. The Palace is the official residence of the Monarch of The United Kingdom and was built on the 16th Century and is certainly worth a visit.
Your tour will take you past the Scottish Parliament and round Athur’s Seat before heading to the outskirts of the City to visit Rosslyn Chapel. Built in the mid 15th Century by The St Clair family it is one of Scotland’s architectural masterpieces and recently featured in the The Da’Vinci Code Movie starring Tom Hanks where it was believed to have been the temporary home of The Holy Grail.
