By placing a booking with Stravaigin, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood and agree to accept the Terms and Conditions as detailed below.

Where the Customer is an individual, no part of these Terms and Conditions affects your rights as a consumer. These Terms and Conditions are in addition to your rights as a consumer.


  • In light of the current COVID-19 situation we will be offering customers the opportunity to transfer their booking to a future date.  Balance payments must still be made in full and on time and a future date must be agreed no later than 35 days prior to the start date of the original tour . As this is a constantly changing situation we will be reviewing this policy regularly and updating accordingly.

Credit/Debit Card Fees

  • Due to the processing fees we incur when accepting card payments we have to pass a portion of these fees on to the customer. As a small business unfortunately we cannot absorb the full fee and as such a 2% card processing fee is added to the total invoice value.


  • Reservations will only be confirmed on receipt of deposit.
  • Balance payments are due 84 days prior to the first date of tour(s) booked.
  • If the balance payment is not made by the due date we reserve the right to cancel the tour.
  • Balance payments will be charged to the card held on file unless an alternative payment method has been authorised prior to the due date.
  • Deposit’s are non-refundable.
  • The customer also agrees that no chargeback will be raised to any credit/debit card issuing Company with regards to the booking payment.
  • Where a client cancels their tour reservation, charges will be payable by as detailed below:

If you or any other member of your party decides to cancel your confirmed booking you must notify us in writing by First Class Recorded Delivery, or by email to: Your notice of cancellation will only take effect when it is received in writing by us at our offices and will be effective from the date on which we receive it.

Cancellation charges and refunds

The following terms and conditions apply:

For 1 day sightseeing tours

  • Cancellation more than 12 weeks before departure = Forfeit Deposit
  • Cancellation less than 12 weeks before departure = No refund unless the date is resold.
  • No refunds are offered on any tours if a client is late for a tour departure time.

For 1 day shore excursions

  • Cancellation more than 12 weeks before departure = Forfeit Deposit
  • Cancellation less than 12 weeks before departure = No refund unless the date is resold.
  • No refunds are offered on any tours if the passenger is late for a tour departure time.
  • Cancellation due to ship being unable to dock for any reason = No refund.

For all tours of more than 1 day’s duration

  • Cancellation more than 12 weeks before the tour departure = Forfeit Deposit
  • Cancellation less than 12 weeks before the tour departure = No refund unless the dates are resold.
  • No refunds are offered on any tours if the client is late for a tour departure time.


Please note that amendments charges are not refundable in any circumstances.

Should one or more member of a party cancel, it may increase the per person holiday price of those still travelling and you will be liable to pay this increase

Important Note: Certain arrangements may not be amended after they have been confirmed and any alteration or cancellation could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements in addition to the charge above.

We would advise clients to obtain comprehensive travel insurance to provide cover for the above terms & conditions

If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.

Please note that there is no automatic statutory right of cancellation under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (Directive 2011/83/EU).

Alterations, changes and cancelations:

Any changes, alterations or cancellations must be made in writing via email.

  • Any alterations made to a booking after the quotation has been accepted & confirmed by a “reserved” invoice being issued will attract an amendment fee of £50 ($70 USD) per person per alteration and is chargeable each time a booking is altered.


  • Whilst Stravaigin Scotland Tours maintains insurance meeting all statutory requirements, we strongly recommend that passengers hold comprehensive and suitable travel, medical and cancellation insurance to cover for eventualities during travel and trips.


  • The Company reserves the right to alter tour itineraries at any time, due to weather conditions, traffic problems, availability of attractions or other such extenuating circumstances outwith our control. 
  • The Company reserves the right to alter the vehicle employed on any tour.

Other Operators/Carriers/Third Party Suppliers

  • The Company will not accept or have any liability for any acts or omissions whether negligent or otherwise of any supplier (including accommodation and subcontracted coach services) or person providing services in connection with any tour unless such a person is employed by or under direct control of the Company. Tickets and vouchers for travel on other carriers are subject to the normal conditions of carriage of the individual carrier.
  • All third party suppliers (i.e. accommodation, ferry costs etc) must be paid in full at the time of booking directly to the supplier and customers will be liable for and bound by the terms and conditions of the relevant third party.
  • Where attractions supply their own tour guides (i.e. Castles etc) unfortunately we are unable to provide our own guiding services on these sites. We will endeavour to ensure an efficient hand over and make arrangements to meet our clients at a suitably agreed location & time on their exit from the attraction.


  • Accommodation arrangements for multi day tours referred to are provided independently by third party accommodation providers. Such arrangements are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by these providers, and as such any contracts undertaken are made between the Customer and the third party accommodation provider. All such arrangements are made independently of Stravaigin Scotland Tours.


  • Whilst reduced entry to some visitor attractions may be available, and any such will be made clear by the guide, tour prices are for transport and driver-guide services only. All accommodation, cruises, visits to castles and other visitor attractions including whisky distilleries are priced separately as optional extras, along with meals and other refreshments and these are at the travellers’ own expense and must be paid directly to the supplier.

Customer Conduct

  • Smoking is not permitted on any of our vehicles.
  • The Company reserves the right to refuse to carry any person whose conduct or manner is likely to cause offence or upset to any 3rd party suppliers, staff or other passengers. In such cases full cancellation charges to the passenger(s) or group apply, and the Company shall have no further liability to those passenger(s) or group.

Force Majeure

  • The Company does not accept any liability for any loss, inconvenience or damage caused by war, threat of war, riot or civil commotion, terrorist or criminal activity, industrial disputes, natural disasters, fires, illness, weather conditions, road traffic conditions, road traffic accidents, temporary technical, electrical or mechanical breakdown within booked accommodation or on any tour vehicle. The company reserves the right to change tour vehicles and or hire or employ 3rd party suppliers to carry out the companies obligations.

Please note that when giving information for the purposes of making your Booking, you will be deemed to consent to us holding and using that information to send you details of other products and services we provide or intend to provide that we think may be of interest to you.
